PerspecSys wins top prize at the EXPO pitch competition

Twenty of the top Canadian technology startup companies descended into Silicon Valley from May 19-20 as participants in “48 Hours in the Valley,” a bi-annual two-day business development program organized by C100 and the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service. Participants spent Wednesday being mentored by the C100, meeting with EA, Cisco and Microsoft and the evening networking with the “who’s who” in Silicon Valley. Thursday included a C100 Q&A session with successful Canadian entrepreneurs in the Valley (founders of Yousendit and Kontagent) and investors (Katherine Barr, MDV and Anthony Lee, Altos Ventures) on raising financing and a visit to the Canadian Technology Accelerator@Plug and Play. In the afternoon, companies participated in EXPO, a well-attended networking and pitching competition event in front of 60 VC judges and an audience of 400 people at Plug and Play Tech Centre in Sunnyvale. Numerous valuable business contacts were developed in the course of these 2 days and one of the Canadian participants, PerspecSys, won the competition among 40 others promising Silicon Valley and international startups, speaking to the strength and ingenuity of the Canadian entrepreneurs who participated. “We are proud that a Canadian company won this prize among some of the best up and coming technology start ups of the Silicon Valley, demonstrating the excellence and talent we have in Canada in the tech industry” said Consul General Stewart Beck.

Free Term Sheet Generator

You might be interested in a web-based term sheet generator offered free of charge by Wilson Sonsini (a Palo Alto-based law firm) for preferred share offerings. It asks you a number of questions in respect of your offering and produces a form of term sheet that purports to be standard (at least for Silicon Valley) for your use.
