Communitech 2010 Offers Inspiring Keynotes
I attended the Communitech 2010 Tech Leadership Conference in Waterloo July 14, my first time attending a Communitech event. I was impressed. Having been to my share of conferences over the years, I look at each with a fairly jaded eye. What did I like about Communitech? First off, if you’ve heard me yap about Canadian apathy toward networking, one of the themes had me at hello: Thou Shall Network. The keynotes at Communitech were also major league. Clayton Christensen, the “godfather of disruptive business models,” never gets old, and Fast Company co-founder Bill Taylor, co-author of Mavericks at Work, shared his insights. The price was right for this conference, too. How can anyone complain about $99 bucks for members? The M&A strategy breakout session was worth a listen, even for those who aren’t in that frame of mind at the moment. The mood in the room was both upbeat and connected. Nice job Communitech. Keep on beating the drums!
